The Fulton Count School System was ready for a change, and needed to move their student information system (SIS) platform to a SaaS based one. During this effort their main goal was to make sure the new platform could handle the dimension of their school district. The testing and migration had to be completed in July, just in time for the new school year.
Before you check out our video below just know that Perform used to be Total Performance Consulting. We're working real hard and just haven't had the chance to make a new video yet!
The Fulton team trusted Perform as their services partner, and we trust NeoLoad as our load testing tool.
Their main concern was to find out how many users the system could scale to before reaching capacity with a minimum target of 2,000 users.
With 100+ years of combined performance engineering expertise on our team along with world-class software like NeoLoad (at that time owned by Neotys and now Tricentis), we were able to prepare and improve the system for the new school year.
During our testing, the simulations we ran were initially unable to hit the school system's targets and their system was unfortunately running short.
During the Endurance test with 500 users we were able to notice a failure on the system after 8 hours of testing. High transaction response times were observed due to a database problem. The system stopped accepting new requests and current ones were delayed.
But, we resolved the issue by detecting a critical issue with data entry and calls, which created a constraint on how the queries were invoked. And, we were able to fix things right in time for back-to-school.
